The COST Action CINNAMON CA24115 is dedicated to expanding, harmonising, and strengthening CAR-T cell therapy expertise across Europe.

By linking academic manufacturers, clinicians, researchers, regulators, patient organisations, and industry stakeholders, CINNAMON aims to accelerate innovation, ensure equitable access, and build the foundations for decentralised CAR‑T manufacturing.

Our network brings together centres from across Europe and beyond, working collaboratively to share knowledge, develop standards, foster training, and create a robust ecosystem for advanced cellular immunotherapies.

What is CAR-T Cell Therapy?

CAR-T cell therapy is an innovative type of cancer treatment that uses a patient’s own immune cells to fight the disease. In this approach, immune cells (called T cells) are collected from the patient’s blood and genetically modified in the laboratory to better recognize and attack cancer cells.

These “retrained” cells are then returned to the patient, where they can seek out and destroy cancer.

CAR-T therapies have already shown remarkable results, particularly in some blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. Research is ongoing to expand their use to other types of cancer, including solid tumors, and to make these therapies safer, more effective, and more widely available.

Manufacturing, scale-up,
standardization and
quality control
WG2:
Preclinical development
of novel CAR-T therapies
WG3:
Regulatory affairs and
market access
WG4:
Clinical research
WG5:
